Jayne Kennedy Overton Presents the Jesse Owens Lifetime Achievement Award to Olympic Gold Medalist,

In 1968 at the Olympic Games in Mexico,Bob Beamon set a new Olympic Record in the Long Jump that went so far past the previous record and the actual end of the measurement on the ground that it took 20 minutes to find a tape to measure how far he had actually jumped. He knew he had set a new record but had no idea that it would be a record that still stands today... 50 years since his historic "FLIGHT" that took him nearly two feet past the record. In utter disbelief he collapsed to the ground. I honor of his 50th Anniversary The Jesse Owens LIfetime Achievement Award was presented by Jayne Kennedy Overton to Mr. Bob Beamon at the Smithsonian National Museum of African American History and Culture.

If you have never seen his jump or you might like to see it AGAIN... TREAT YOURSELF!
